Stylus New Writer Submissions

Like On Avery Island? Like Destiny Fulfilled? Both? Something in between? Looking to join a staff of open-minded, well-informed writers versed in more than just the usual hype fodder? Then we’ve got the job for you! Stylus is now accepting submissions for new music writers. We’re searching for knowledgeable, creative and reliable writers who can contribute at least one 400-800 word review every week. If you think you match that description, send us a submission that includes the following items:

1. One new review for an album – preferably a recent release – not already appearing in the Stylus archives. This review should be between 400-800 words in length, formatted in accordance with the reviews found on the site, and should emphasize your strengths as a writer – your abundant knowledge, infinite wit and so forth.
2. A list of your top ten albums of 2004 so far. We know it’s tough, but we need you to give us a good idea of what you like and what you’re listening to.
3. A list of your five favorite artists from each decade starting with the 1960s. This is your chance to dazzle us with your grasp of music history, so spend a little time with it!

Direct all submissions, marked with the subject header “New Writer Submission,” to our esteemed editor at We look forward to hearing from you soon – good luck!
