I do have an almost-15 year old sister and while I spent the first week home from college making her mix CDs in an attempt to get her to turn off the MCR I eventually came to your conclusion. Nice piece.

On Monday morning I feel guilty about this so we listen, at random, to the new Mandy Moore album--

Yeah, I stopped reading right about there.

i usually like these, because theyre usually reflective. this one alternates between autobiography and reviews of records that could not be less necessary. nothing has ever made me want to talk about music less.

Mandy Moore and R. Kelly? I'll stick to my own weeks.

it can't all be groundbreaking, genre shifting, generation defining albums... sometimes you need mandy moore. well done.

I liked this piece a lot- anyone who is a little too much into music has moments like the ones Theon describes- you know, where someone asks what they believe to be a totally asinine question, only to receive a long and (for them, at least) boring response from the music geek they posed the question to. I like how Theon makes the humor obvious without holding the reader's hand.
