 So in a sense, what you're telling me is that each tape he handed out over a certain period of time represented a unique recording of his material? What the fucking shit fuck? That's amazing. I remember my hairdresser telling me about this guy about ten years ago at which point I catalogued the conversation. Throughout the last decade I have heard his name mentioned repeatedly with much admiration and solemnity, but I have yet to listen to his work. I'm sure he will represent a Jandek-esque journey into strangeness once I do delve deeply into his distorted dimentia. Thanks for a great review and I can't wait to see this flick.

 No, actually, Daniel Johnston`s music just gets quickly annoying. His voice is great at first...until great becomes grating. His songs are catchy as hell...and then nauseating on the second listen. His dementia is probably nothing more than an American imbecile`s lust for attention...fame. But I can`t wait to see this movie too just to watch the paranoid little twerp talk far too much about himself and get his 15 seconds.
