Radio 1 killed off my favourite feature in any magazine, probably ever. Thanks for doing your best, Will.

Ditto. Very very very very good piece (of controlled bile). I will miss this column.

Ah crap. It was this column stumbled upon at random that actually made me a regular reader of this site. I could kind of see it coming when I first heard of the 'zaney' revamp. Still a shame though. Are radio 1 the only people totally oblivious to the fact that 90% of their 'talent' are unlikeable cretins? Does anybody over school age feel impressed when a DJ talks over a song to announce that yes, he/she can drink like a fish?

Just registered specially to echo the thoughts already posted - thanks for a great column.

If it had to end, at least it ended on such a magnificent piece of writing.

Hey, don't feel too least you guys in the UK have HAD a deent chart program before, or even better, decent charts and a population with at least some sense for knowing what bands are good and which are shit. The day that the Futureheads make it on to the US sales charts will be the day that I start having faith in the musical sensibilities of this country again. Which, coincidentally is also the day that pigs will fly out of my ass, but hey, what can you do? But seriously, I am sad to see this column go because it was one of my favorites...hopefully they go back to how it normally was so that I can read your column again.

Excellent, lamentable piece. We both grieve. Next morning I got up and it did not. The first day after a death, the new absence Is always the same; we should be careful Of each other, we should be kind While there is still time. Philip Larkin

The chart show always sucked but in a funny way. It's not funny any more, it's just horrible corporate major-label-controlled wank. I totally understand why you're shutting this down. I've been reading it for a year and a half and it's been one of the most enjoyable columns on any site or newspaper around, so thanks a lot, and I'll miss it. Fantastic last column.
