| ||Well, though I´m a German, I have my doubts if these expressions really make no sense:)
but, here the answers: 1) "washing up" : you are in the kitchen, lots of dirty things around, and you make them clean, the spoons, the forks etc. Got it?
2) "nostalgic needs": some people love old times. In rock music, this means that People want thei old stars doing nice comebacks. The most important years of Roxy Music were the early years, thosusand years ago. Since then, the old memebrs of the group are oftenasked by not-so-very-intelligent journalists: "Will their be a comeback of the old band. with Brian Eno?" So they refer to their own nostalgic needs (desires) or those of their older readers. Another example: Genesis. Some fine albums in their early salad days, a lot of mainstream bullshit later on. Okay? Hope you know, what "salad days" means! Now what was this? English For French beginners?:) |
