I really wanted to like this . . . but, as another critic said, the band should be called "Feel Bad, Inc." It's just . . . dull. Perhaps it will grow on me, but at this point I don't feel like giving it many chances.

Thi sis a spike bar boys club band if ever i heard one. The only problem with it is Damon doesn't come across half as smugly as he should. Did I read in a Berliner-Broadsheet that Albarn was the new Bowie? Jesus Christ, are we that desperate? CW got it nail on with 'dull'. I concur. Some albums need to be given time to reveal themselves, others need time to just get you complacent - people, do not be fooled on this one. A 'B' is generous.

i really like this album. one man's 'dull' is another's 'melancholy,' i guess.

Sure Mike. It's a fine line.

It is dull (it's also weirdly, unneccessarily distorted on a few songs) and it is wasteful of an amazing rhythm section, but it's also... quite good.

looking foward to seeing these guys live. i think i'll wait to listen to the record until afterwards. seems like it'd be better in person.

It's not a funeral album at all ... it's a "I finally understand life" album and as someone who feels the same way, it's great to hear music that speaks to that part of my brain.

God damn it, this is growing on me. It's better than some of the Blur catalog, I'll say that . . .
