Wow. Very nice review. Especially that Super Sweet 16 analogy. And you pretty much summed up my take on Diddy in the first paragraph.

really great review, but i can't help asking: why all the rick ross hate on stylus? i'm asking sincerely out of curiosity, because i've only ever read his name as a punchline here. i kinda love "hustlin'". in fact, i really really really love "hustlin'". sure, he has no flow, but neither do a good portion of the top-selling hip-hop artists. "atlantic" with "atlantic" *is* hilarious, but it's supposed to be. and in my mind, the production values and atmosphere are more the point nowadays-- hip-hop tracks are a objets d'pop. i guess the white and black/hispanic markets for hip-hop must be on vastly different wavelengths: my neighbors in the bushwick projects have had "hustlin'" and "riding dirty" on repeat for months. (that is admittedly my primary mode of exposure to hip-hop--then i seek it out from there out of naive and childlike love for the song completely out of context.)

Since I usually rip the hell out of the reviewers, I'll be nice and say this one was on.
