Nice one Evan. Yeah, this is one of the year's best. I still think Suburban Light is The Clientele's best work, even though it is a compilation.

I love this album, particularly the spoken word 'Losing Haringey.' It's so bleak and wonderful: 'Everything in my life felt like it was coming to a mysterious close. / I could hardly walk to the end of the street without feeling there was no way to go except back.' Also, I hear more George Harrison in the E.M.P.T.Y. freakout than anyting else. It reeks of 'Taxman.' The best thing for me, though, is the production, as you pointed out. It's clear and sharp, and the vocals are at the front of the mix, with only the guitars reverbed. Excellent.

Nice review. This is one solid as hell album. The review is spot on and so is the B+ grade. Wow, a good review on Stylus for once! Keep it up, Evan.
