 This is a nice article, though I disagree on one point - you say there's nothing outstanding about the drumming, bass and vocals on this record... I don't really mind about bass and vocals (Verlaine's nasal yelp is certainly distinctive, but I don't think most would say outstanding), but the drums on this record are FANTASTIC. Billy Ficca has a tremendous jazz-like loose limbed style and a second nature for locking in with just the right counter-beat.. as somebody said in another review of this album, you could write a rock drumming textbook just based on his performances on these songs.
