I visited the island of Roatan in Honduras a few summers ago and saw a Garifuna dance. They have an unusual history in the region from what I understand. I don't remember the music, but the performance felt sexual and slightly agonized. Maybe I'll seek out that Andy Palacio disc.

Ngikhona, wena? Kodwa let's talk ngeSingisi for the abelungus present. I can recommend the new Hugh Masekela as accompaniment to Zulu flash cards, though, if you decide on a revisit. Kodwa lona uyiXhosa. Just like Miriam. Eish.
