Anecdote time: I was flying from Boston to Tokyo and I got bugged in by a horde Southern-accented elderly American evangelist husband & wife types who I managed to coldly extinguish for about half an hour until this monstrosity of a woman turned and said in that most grating of accents "Well, I haven`t even got to know you yet". Why was I polite? I`ll never learn. Politeness is the curse of the world, it denies truth. The whole fat group of them 20 o so in all clucking like deranged chickens in our corner of the plane were off to upstate Honshuu to work in Christian camp to help convert those poor Japanese kids whose parents had been fucked up by missionaries over the past ten or so years and now wanted to make their kids suffer under the guise of hideous fat ugly jowl monsters of the New Right we`ll believe anything dumber-than-dumb brigade retarded two thumbed mongoloidal bulging eyed cottage cheese thighed fatter than fat South Virginians or whatever state they were from.

Completely agree here, though I am not a warrior for the truth in day to day social niceties by any means. It is frighteningly clear that many Americans of the God-stripe (Christian mostly) are getting more smug and comfortable in their idiotic "will of God" pan-justification ritualistic truth-fabricating than ever. Perhaps we can bottle The-Disexists essence and unleash it into the water. Generalizations and pot-shots at an easy target, sure, but fuck if this country doesn't get scarier by the minute, and I live in Virginia.

Madame Foote, good intentions are meaningless if they lead to insanity, or worse. But yeah, acknowledge that they exist, fine.
