This is rather self-indulgent. Even for you.

The biggest question this raises is: What are you doing with Keane and Embrace on your IPod? Just filling up the space?

Well he reviewed the Keane album I think, and well, NS and Embrace...

Yes, Cookie Mountain is overrated, but Loveless (for all its hype) is still highly underrated. Someday it'll click for you. Hopefully.

Now, the logical conclusion would be to deduce that TV on the Radio do the same thing that other people like but you don't like that My Bloody Valentine did on Loveless and leave it at that. I guess it's your inner rockcrit that compels you to dismiss both as overhyped.

I like both Cookie and Loveless - I like them both a LOT, even - but that doesn't negate the reams and reams of spunk-laded prose that's been coaxed out of typewriters and home computers over both.

I really wish this column was tighter on the quality control. When it's good it's a worthy addition to the site, but when it's BAD oh man is it poor. "I got laid let me tell the world" stories to wince by, whole pages of vitriol aimed at harmless if corny comment box contributors, brainstorm bullet point screeds that read like preparation for an essay I might have wrote in my younger years (minus the naive socialism). Pitchfork at it's worst wouldn't even go near some of these entires frankly. Why do I care? God knows.

I kind of agree Loveless is overrated though! Only a little bit, but still. The actual melodies just never seem memorable/original enough all-the-way-through to fully support the brilliance of the sonics over the whole record without me getting a tiny bit tired before the record's over...
