| ||OK- so I like "Human" for what it's worth, but I don't really think this album holds a candle to Dare! or the earlier albums. And I understand the whole Jam and Lewis tie-in thing, but really it'd be a shame if everyone soulseeked Crash and then decided they didn't like the Human League. Instead I think Dare! is the way to go---"rhythmically-challenged" though it may be, it's still one of the best albums of its kind (electronic/synth pop).
That said, it's funny to speculate on what transformed the League from making anti-disco, sexless non-anthems to their form on Crash. My theory? Phil figured out that he could get more ass if he ditched the electro weirdos and got a harem of back-ups singers. It probably worked, but the music suffered.|
