| | maybe they should aknowledge that they also had a top 100 list of music videos of all time (with using YouTube clips) and do oen like "The other 100 great music videos" instead of doing repeats. I liked the short responses that Pitchfork had written and the one about "nothing compares 2 u" made me watch the music video 5 times in a roll. I never sat through it until reading that. |

| | Pitchfork's was "100 awesome music videos" and never declared theirs to be the best of all time (they even didn't allow anything on the director series dvds which would populate half of a best of list.)
This still seems dubious to me though. |

| | I would imagine that its a coincidence but even if its not could we please just avoid the Pitchfork comparisons and pay attention to the content within the article? Is anyone going to bitch the next time Pitchfork does a "100 Greatest Albums of the ___" article? They didn't invent the concept of controversy and nostalgia though categorization of entertainment mediums so lets not treat them as such.
please for the sake of there being 60 comments comparing this to Pitchfork by weeks end. |

| | Excellent call on the Bright Eyes video. I never paid the song much attention when I heard it on the album, but this video made me well up the first time I saw it. Perfect match of music and visuals. Plus, it's directed by Hedwig! What's not to love? |

| | 100 awesome videos doesn't necessarily have to be "the best", just stuff you find fun which is why i kind of liked that article better.
REGARDLESS the videos so far have been quite good outside of a few odd additions. No Diggity isn't a bad video per se, but I'm pretty sure given enough time I can think fo 10 better Hype Williams videos and I hope there aren't 10 more Hype Willaims videos on this list.
I like the Bright Eyes video better when Cake did it.
If Hungry like the Wolf is THIS low, Girls on Film better be MUCH higher.
I like the inclusion of The Distance and Ocean Breathes Salty, good videos that never get enough mention.
I really do hope some lesser known but equally good videos make the list, like Pharcyde's Drop and DJ Format's We Know Something.

| | bassman - If you let a video load fully before playing it, it won't be choppy. To do that, hit PLAY on a video and then hit PAUSE. You will see the bar going across as it loads.
Anyway, why does it matter if Pitchfork already did a list like this? This isn't Pitchfirk. Most sources have done a Videos list, so why can't Stylus do one?

| | Agreed for Once in a Lifetime. The White Stripes video really opens a lot of possibilities, you know. Lite Brite, tinkertoys, stolen footage from Mario games...Of course it would all look like it was ripping off the White Stripes but it would be a great nostalgia trip move anyhow. |
