Kalle-M - This Place

This one reminds me of way too many records I’d sample at Satellite Records killing time before a movie or something, one of those deep house-type twelves whose “progress” basically amounted to predictable rhythms, that rubbery bellsynth stutter, and absolutely zero climax. One of those records somebody, somewhere, says is “slamming,” though it’s obvious he only listened to the first fifteen seconds and didn’t drop the needle anywhere else on the A, not that Kalle-M packed any surprises anyway. Why records like this get released is beyond me, two bars of pitiful nonsense, looped and EQ’d ad infinitum with no sensible verve or apparent logic. Even if you haven’t been to spin class in weeks, trust me: you’ve heard this one before.
